Dr. Mostafa Ali is a distinguished expert in food safety, food control, and quality management, with extensive professional and academic experience in food, and laboratory sectors. I currently serves as Director of the Food Safety Unit at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and works as a lecturer in the same institution, contributing to the development of students and professionals in the field of food safety and public health.

Dr. Mostafa holds a PhD in Food Control and Hygiene, with research focusing on improving food safety systems, enhancing laboratory performance, and applying scientific methods to reduce food-borne risks. Throughout his career, he has been deeply involved in training, technical supervision, and capacity building for laboratories, food establishments, and governmental bodies.

As a speaker at Food Africa, Dr. Mostafa Ali shares insights on the latest trends in food safety, innovation in risk management, and the integration of scientific approaches to enhance public health and the food supply chain.

Dr. El Shafaey Abdellatif is a specialist in agri-food inspection and quality systems, with a strong scientific background in grain origins and ancient food reconstruction. He holds an MSc and PhD in Biology from Helwan University, where he also served as a lecturer in the Botany and Microbiology Department.
From 2015 to 2019, he worked with Egypt’s General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC), supervising inspections of imported grains and pulses. During this time, he served on key committees at the Egyptian Organization for Standards and Quality (EOS) and represented Egypt in international CODEX meetings.
Dr. Abdellatif also holds an MBA from Liverpool John Moores University.
He currently works with Bureau Veritas, overseeing the technical, commercial, and customer aspects of the agri-food inspection business and driving new business growth while managing major accounts.

From 2013-2021, he served as Director General in Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. From 2000-2013, he held several leadership positions in the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. From 1995-2000, he served as Head of Division for Agriculture at the German Embassy in Moscow, Russia.  
Beger holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universitaet in Bonn, Germany. 

Ahmed Rezk began his professional career in 2004 as an Economic Researcher at the Centre for Economic and Financial Research and Studies (CEFRS), following his graduation from the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences at Cairo University. He later transitioned to the Industrial Modernization Centre (IMC), where he served as an Industry Development Expert. Subsequently, he was appointed Manager of the National Policy Support Unit at IMC. Rezk advanced his career by taking on the role of Deputy CEO for Policy and International Cooperation at the Export Development Authority. In 2018, he joined the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as the National Programme Officer at the Regional Hub Office in Egypt. By 2022, he was promoted to Deputy Regional Representative at the same office. Currently, Rezk is the Country Director of the UN-Habitat Programme in Egypt since June 2024. Ahmed Rezk holds a Master’s degree in Euro Mediterranean Studies from the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences at Cairo University, and an Advanced Certificate in International Trade from the UK Institute of Export. Over the past 20 years, he has amassed substantial experience in supporting sustainable development. His key areas of expertise include institutional development, policy advice and support, development strategies, and reform plans. He has extensive
experience working with governmental entities, international organizations, and donor-funded development programs.

Prof. Mohamed Yacoub has served as Head of Programmes at FAO Egypt since 2015. In this capacity, he advances rural transformation, supports agribusiness growth, promotes sustainable livelihoods, and oversees all Technical Cooperation Programmes in accordance with the Country Programme Framework (CPF). He also plays a crucial part in mobilizing resources and fostering partnerships with development agencies and stakeholders. Bringing over 25 years of experience in academia and development, Prof. Yacoub is recognized as a Senior Expert in Agricultural Extension and teaches at the Higher Institute for Agriculture Cooperation (HIAC). Dr. ABDEL GALIL Graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture in 1990. His main background is in the fields of Food Safety, Food Hygiene, Quality Control, Public Health, Legislation, and Standards Specifications, Food Technology, Food Microbiology, Nutrition, ..etc. Dr. ABDEL GALIL joined the Chamber of Food Industries in 1992 and has since then held several different responsibilities within the chamber as a coordinator to the Dairy & Oils Sectors. In 2000 he became Technical Portfolio Manager. In 2002, he got his Doctorate in Public Health Science (Food Hygiene & Food Control), besides many national and international positions like Jeddah Governorate Municipality – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Food Hygiene & Food Control Expert "2007".

Dr. Abdel GALIL was appointed as Chairman of the Technical Administration Sector in July 2011. In July 2018 he was appointed as the Technical Affairs Manager of the Chamber of Food Industries.

Dr. ABDELGALIL is the representative of Egypt in meetings of the International Dairy Federation IDF & at the World Dairy Summit WDS organized by the federation annually since
2008 until now. He is also a member of several international food standards issuing committees (CODEX) and Arab Standards Development Committees. He is a highly qualified professional in the field of Food Quality and Food processing procedures according to the main international standards and requirements. He participated in and directed many projects in the field of HACCP & ISO 22000, a global trade newsletter, and Dairy industry development. He is an expert in the key requirements and legislation and has strong relationships with consumers, customers, and representatives of government regulators in the food sector, he also attended several training courses, most recently for Food Safety at the University of Ohio, USA.

Dina Mahmoud Hosny is an experienced Business Development and Export Manager at Kemet for Natural Food, specializing in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) export sector. Besides a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and International Business from MSA University in Egypt,   she also holds a dual Master’s Degree in Financial Management and Corporate Restructuring , Marketing from Middlesex University in London, where she graduated with First Class Honors in 2007.

Dina began her professional career as an Investment Analyst in the Investment Banking Department at Global Investment House in Egypt from May 2007 to April 2009. Here, she was responsible for conducting informational memorandums for mandated clients, assisting in financial valuations, and supporting M&A deal negotiations.

Following this, she transitioned to Gozour Agro as a Financial Analyst in the Private Equity and Corporate Restructuring Department from April 2009 to April 2011. In this role, she conducted financial analysis for each subsidiary, assisted in the financial valuation of companies, and developed financial plans tailored to each subsidiary's needs.

Iman ElSherif is a senior development and emergency response leader with more than 25 years of experience supporting vulnerable communities, particularly refugees and migrants, across the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe. She currently serves as Area Director and Emergency Response Lead at Save the Children International in Egypt, leading more than 350 staff and volunteers and overseeing multisectoral programs that reach over 85,000 people annually in partnership with civil society, government institutions, and key donors.
 
Over the past decade, Iman has contributed to major national strategies, including the National Population Strategy and the National Strategy for Combating Child Marriage, and co-led integrated urban development programs that empowered youth leaders to drive community solutions. With a strong medical background, she has strengthened public systems across 12 governorates and supported child protection structures in 15 governorates.
